on
Friday the 17th November
We are asking everyone to come dressed in spotty clothes and get creative by making a Pudsey piece of art. School council would like enough art to cover the school hall!
To take part in this event we would like you to help your child by getting friends and family to sponsor them.
Please remember that all money raised will go to good causes.
A big thank you from the school council.

Are you looking for a Reception class that will ……
ensure your child’s interests and enthusiasm are captured immediately to maximise their learning and progress?
Where…
adults go to where children are involved to extend their learning at the appropriate level?
children are given time to reveal their ideas, problems, interests and skills?
in that moment of curiosity, puzzlement, effort or interest - ‘the teachable moment’ - our skillful adults make a difference?
At Gunter we consider the individual needs, interests and stage of development of each child in our care and use this information to plan a challenging and enjoyable learning experience throughout the school.

Pupils and staff from Gunter Primary School, in Pype Hayes, are celebrating after being awarded a Premier League Primary Stars kit and equipment pack.
The pack contains pop-up goals, footballs, hoops, die, training bibs, cones and balloon which will be used by our Lunchtime Sports Crew to deliver cross-curricular competitive sports activities.
The Kit and Equipment Scheme forms part of the Premier League Primary Stars offer to primary schools in England and Wales. This is a curriculum-linked education programme that uses the appeal of the Premier League and its clubs to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life skills.
Delivered by the Football Foundation, the Premier League Primary Stars Kit and Equipment Scheme gives teachers a range of equipment that can be used across different curriculum areas to get children active.
Also available is a free downloadable suite of resources for teachers across Key Stages 1 and 2 in English, Maths, PE and PSHE. The easy-to-use materials have been developed in partnership with education organisations including the National Literacy Trust and the PSHE Association.
Mathematician Rachel Riley and children’s authors Cressida Cowell and Dan Freedman also helped to create the teaching packs, which use real life sport examples to put lessons into a relevant and engaging context for children.
Richard Scudamore, Executive Chairman of the Premier League and Football Foundation Trustee, said: “Congratulations to Gunter Primary on their successful application for a Premier League Primary Stars Kit and Equipment pack. We hope this kit, coupled with the free downloadable online resources, will help teachers harness the popularity of football to inspire primary school kids in everything from Maths and English to teamwork and sport.”
Catherine Baker, PE co-ordinator, said: “What a fantastic resource that children can use to organise and lead their own fun activities during a lunchtime or playtime! Thanks to the Premier League for gifting the kit and equipment pack.”
The school garden is a wonderful learning resource which links with the curriculum work that the children do in class. We want them to have more experience at growing and observing nature through the seasons. Unfortunately our garden is a little overgrown!
