We aim to provide opportunities for thoughtful and wide-ranging promotion of pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development through targeted lessons, assemblies, RE (and other cross curricular links), as well as tough our use of PATHS (Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies). Through these routes, we also ensure the promotion of fundamental British values, as well as our core Gunter values.
Sex and Relationship Education is taught at the end of year 5 and during year 6 as part of a Health Education programme. The course of study is rooted in the context of family life, and discussions on hygiene and bodily changes during adolescence will take place. Parents have the right to withdraw their child from all or part of the SRE provided, in consultation with the class teacher.
Please see separate SRE policy also.
