Tesla day April 2024
We had a very exciting day this week when three Tesla technicians came to visit us. We learned lots about sustainability and how they are trying to reduce the use of fossil fuels. They also showed us how they use the design thinking process to solve problems, just like we do in DT! We then got to go outside and go inside two different Tesla cars. We saw all of their interesting features and had great fun! Afterwards, we all took part in a design competition to add a new feature!
(Children’s comment):
The Tesla session was super fun, the workers were super nice. They let us sit in the cars, play games and songs, it was very cool to be in. It was the best time of my life, can they come again?!
Space Centre trip
To complete our to infinity and beyond topic we visited Leicester Space centre. Everyone had a fantastic day, with so much to do, we couldn’t decide on our favourite bit. Some of the highlights were: the planetarium show, where we saw some of the training an astronaut goes through before a space mission; the rocket tower, there are lots of things to explore and play with, the height of the rockets were surprising; or all the other activities, such as trying to lift a can of beans if it was on the sun-impossible!
Badminton trip March 2024
We were luckily enough to be offered tickets to the badminton championships. Although not fans of the sport initially, children quickly began supporting players and teams, really getting behind them. Children enjoyed the opportunity to practice their serves, some scoring quite high points.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
