The Governing Body is a group of dedicated individuals from varying backgrounds and offering different areas of expertise from within the local community. We all share the goal of ensuring that Gunter Primary School is able to offer the best educational provision to its children, and that all children are able to reach their potential and be suitably prepared for both their next steps in education and be provided with essential life skills.
The Governing Body itself is a legal entity with responsibilities across a number of areas including;
It is the role of the Governing Body to take a strategic view, plan for the future, set appropriate targets, and to monitor and evaluate results. The Governing Body works in close partnership with the Headteacher, providing both challenge and support to ensure that all decisions are made following due process.
The Chair of Governors is Mr Edward Lawrence, who can be contacted via the school office.
The full Governing Body meets twice termly, or may gather for extraordinary meetings if required.
