Dear Parents and Carers,
A very warm welcome to the Gunter Primary School website. We hope you find the information helpful and that it gives you a true sense of the care, commitment, and learning that take place in our school every day.
Gunter Primary is a small, one-form entry school, and there is something truly special about being part of such a close-knit community. Visitors regularly comment on the friendly, welcoming atmosphere that makes Gunter feel like more than just a school – it feels like a family. Our school motto, “Strive to Succeed,” is at the heart of everything we do, and we are dedicated to helping every child achieve their very best.
We are incredibly proud of our pupils and all that they achieve. Alongside strong academic learning, we are committed to preparing our children for the ever-changing world they are growing up in, ensuring they leave us confident, resilient, and ready for the next stage of their journey.
Our dedicated staff and Governing Body work closely together as one team, showing care, commitment, and enthusiasm in everything they do. We aim to provide a calm, stimulating, and supportive environment where children feel valued and motivated. We encourage independence, celebrate individuality, and recognise personal achievements, while maintaining high expectations for behaviour, attitude, and effort.
At Gunter, our children are at the heart of every decision we make. We greatly value the vital role that parents and carers play in supporting their child’s learning and wellbeing. By working in partnership, we can continue to build on our successes and help every child shine.
We warmly encourage parents and carers to be involved in school life and welcome your feedback, ideas, and suggestions. While our website contains a wealth of information, we understand that it may not answer every question, so please do not hesitate to contact the school if you need any further support or guidance.
It is a genuine privilege to be the Headteacher of Gunter Primary School. I am committed to ensuring that every child who joins our school family receives the very best educational experiences in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Thank you for your continued commitment and support to our pupils and staff. I look forward to working in partnership with you and your children.
Warm regards,
Christy McConnell
