March 2025 - World Maths Day
Children engaged with a wide variety of Maths activities. They completed an I Spy Maths in My Class activity and noted everyday use of Maths in the class; went on a times tables scavenger hunt to solve a maths problem; took part in the Maths Mini Olympics to measure how far we can jump; explored maths in art and created our own beautiful maths art; measured time whilst brushing our teeth; and measured ingredients to bake biscuits.
March 2025 - World Book Day
Children dressed up as their favourite character or her. We took part in a whole school parade, read stories, completed book reviews, explored author quotes and used role-play to act out and perform a scene about lessons that can be learned from quotes. In addition, Mrs McConnell visited and read a story about Greta Thunberg and we also joined in with a live broadcast with the author Pamela Butchart.
December 2024 - Fruit Kebabs
To encourage children to try new foods and healthy eating, we made our very own fruity kebabs. Tasty!
November 2024 - Our World War Two Sleepover Day
Year 4 arrived dressed up as evacuees. Children had an action packed day learning about what life was like for evacuees during World War Two. They made their own torch for the air raid shelter, baked biscuits, weighed their rations at our Sweet Shop and took part in a night tour of the school.
November 2024 - Visit to RAF Cosford
Children visited RAF Cosford to further develop their learning of the Battle of Britain and the Blitz during World War Two. During the visit, children had participated in a workshop where they were able to explore many historical artefacts.

October 2024 - Year 4 Visit to Twycross Zoo
Children had visited Twycross Zoo to enhance their learning of animals and habitats. During the visit, children participated in a Rainforest Workshop.
